![]() ![]() My workaround in that case is to start the standalone version of the program (ON1 Effects for example) besides Affinity Photo so that the main program is just running. When I select on of these from the menu, they just don't do anything. I am having this problem with ON1 plugins (in Affinity Photo 1 and 2 as well). Because of that I developed a habit to not rely on the central plugin folder but specify the plugin path explicitly for each of the „problematic“ plugins (see screenshot).Īs far as plugins „just doing nothing“ are concerned: ![]() Some of these problems were related to „wrong“ versions of plugin files lurking in the plugin folder. I also experienced some crashing or „just not working“ plugins with Affinity. So basically I am using ACDsee as Lightroom.Topaz tries and I get a message that eror with plugins and then tries to open but crashes Affinity 2 Then use Affinity and launch other plugins from Affinity. I will create a tiff from raw in Develop mode. The issue however doesn't occur when the Topaz plugins are used from Affinity Photo, so an alternative work flow is to select the image in ACDSee Manage mode, then invoke Affinity Photo as an external editor and use the plugins from Affinity.Thanks. The ProPhoto color profile issue I posted about can also be seen in other Topaz plugins, (for instance Sharpen AI) when they are used as a plugin from ACDsee Mode, however the color of the processed images returned back to ACDSee Edit are OK. The issue however doesn't occur when the Topaz plugins are used from Affinity Photo, so an alternative work flow is to select the image in ACDSee Manage mode, then invoke Affinity Photo as an external editor and use the plugins from Affinity. If I then select Motion Blur, Normal, and process using the Auto settings, the applied image returned to ACDSee Edit on Layer 1 copy can be compared with the original by turning on and off Layer 1 copy and appears to be what it should be. So for example if I open a ProPhoto profiled image in Edit Mode, duplicate the layer, select Layer 1 Copy, invoke Sharpen AI as a plug in, I will see the "washed out" color in the Sharpen AI display. ![]() I am trying to give up LR and PS.The ProPhoto color profile issue I posted about can also be seen in other Topaz plugins, (for instance Sharpen AI) when they are used as a plugin from ACDsee Mode, however the color of the processed images returned back to ACDSee Edit are OK. All images are passed as Adobe RGB since my Monitor and Printer both support 100% Adobe RGB. My normal work flow is LR to PS to Topaz back to PS then back to LR. When Topaz Studio 2 is used as an External Editor from Manage mode in ACDSee, any changes made in Studio 2 are written back over the the image that was selected so make sure you are working with a copy. Thanks! In my case it was a tiff file. When Topaz Studio 2 is used as an External Editor from Manage mode in ACDSee, any changes made in Studio 2 are written back over the the image that was selected so make sure you are working with a copy. If you look at the Histograms, you can see the image on the left, where Topaz was accessed from manage mode as an external editor is just a bit darker., which appears to be opposite to what you have experienced If however I take a JPG image, which does not have to be developed, then there is very little difference. The iimage on the left is from Studio 2 accessed as an External Editor from ACDSee manage mode, and the image on the right is from Studio 2 accessed as a plug in from ACDSee Edit Mode. In the following screen shot, the source image was a RAW. So I would not expect them to be the same, and what I see here is exactly that. You can find lots of references to this in the Topaz Forums. When you access the image using Topaz Studio 2 as an External Editor from ACDSee Manage mode, the development of the RAW image is done by Studio 2, and it is well known that Topaz Raw development does not apply a tone curve, so the developed images look "flat". When you access the image using Topaz Studio 2 as a plugin from ACDSee Edit Mode, the development of the RAW image has been done by ACDSee. At least two different situations can occur depending on the image.įirst take the situation that occurs with a RAW image. ![]()
